Carole and Clive
Sell have been part of the Ellinbank community for the past 22
years.
Leaving the suburbs of Melbourne for the beautiful green hills
of West Gippsland,
the Vineyard was once an Iris Farm, and then became a Protea Plantation.
In 1998, with Mum and Dad, friends and relatives,
Carole and Clive started planting the Chardonnay and Cabernet
Sauvignon.
The following year, Merlot and Pinot Noir were planted,
followed by Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc.
Collecting wine equipment along the way and learning from experience,
and after
10 years and much blood, sweat and tears, they have produced a
superb Chardonnay, followed by a big beautiful Pinot Noir, and
a lighter styled Cabernet Sauvignon.
Look out this year for more.
In 2006 a cellar door area was built, and in 2007 a small cafe
and restuarant were added, with the terrace overlooking the vines
and farmland with views toward Mt. Baw Baw.
It's a beautiful place to eat, drink, and take in the fabulous
scenery.
The Mediterranean - based menu complements the beautiful wines,
and it makes a perfect place to visit, relax, taste,
and enjoy the best Gippsland has to offer.
